I am a South San Francisco-based painter who specializes in capturing atmospheric energy and dynamic movement using acrylics and oils. Water Shadows is part of a broader body of work where I explore the quiet depth and color gradients of coastal water. I work intuitively, letting colors layer and blend to build texture and dimension. My paintings have been featured in local Bay Area gallery exhibits, cultural showcases, and award-winning exhibitions across San Mateo County.
This painting, Water Shadows, is an exploration of submerged atmosphere and diffused light. Using layers of indigo, teal, and aqua, I focused on the abstract patterns created by shadows in deep water. Instead of defining boundaries, I used soft, blending brushstrokes on the textured canvas to evoke a quiet, enveloping sense of immersion. My goal was to capture the fluid, ethereal quality of light as it descends, creating a visual stillness that invites introspection.
