Artist Story

I am a Bay Area artist based in South San Francisco, where I have lived and created for over 11 years. My work is deeply inspired by the coastal landscapes of the San Mateo Coast, particularly the shifting light and continuous motion of the Pacific Ocean. Working primarily across acrylic and oil mediums, my paintings focus on movement, texture, and vibrant color relationships. My current wave series was recently featured in the Waves of Change group exhibition, and my work is held in private collections and custom commissions throughout Northern California.

Description

In this piece, my goal was to transmit the raw energy and fluid movement of the ocean through dynamic, layered brushwork. Working in acrylics and oils, I focused on capturing the sweeping curve of a cresting wave just as it catches the light. While deep blues anchor the base of the piece, I heavily featured vibrant teals, emeralds, and seafoam greens to highlight the translucency of the water in motion. Through thick, expressive strokes, I wanted to recreate the visceral experience and power of standing right at the shore.
