I love exploring the intersection of vibrant color theory and emotive natural forms. Working primarily in acrylics, my paintings celebrate botanical, wildlife, and cultural subjects through dynamic lighting and bold color palettes. My original artwork has received first-place awards in local exhibitions across South San Francisco and San Mateo County, and has been featured in regional Bay Area gallery shows.
In this piece, I focused on bringing out the sculpted elegance and vibrant contrast of a single iris flower. I used a bold color strategy—pairing deep purples, cornflower blues, and fiery orange centers against a soft, flat blush-pink background. By isolating the stem and bloom, I aimed to highlight the delicate folds, dramatic light values, and organic grace of the petals, creating a piece that feels both striking and joyful.
