I am a South San Francisco-based painter originally from Guatemala, dedicated to representing my culture and heritage here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Working primarily in acrylics and oils, my artwork explores themes of identity, generational connection, and cultural endurance through vibrant palettes and textured brushwork. My paintings have been featured in local Bay Area gallery shows, cultural art exhibitions, and award-winning regional displays across San Mateo County.
This painting is a celebration of Indigenous Guatemalan culture, focusing on how worn hands, full of purpose and wisdom, pass down traditions and craftsmanship. Through rich magenta tones, warm light, and expressive brushwork, I depict the tactile act of preparing traditional food—a tribute to our rich heritage that stays alive through skills handed down from one generation to the next. The focus on the artisan's hands honors the quiet strength, labor of love, and ancestral memory embedded in everyday work and chores.
